Pan Mill Meadows is a small, magical parcel of riverside land just south of St George's Bridge. When the land came under pressure for development several years ago, Island 2000 Trust stepped in to buy it on behalf of the Newport Rivers Group and with the help of Heritage Lottery funding.
Walk or ride along the railway line, looking out for grey wagtails, buzzards, herons. Visit Birchmore Pond for a beautiful show of dragonflies.
Visit our viewing hide at Parkhurst Forest to catch a glimpse of the scampering Red Squirrels.
The wetland walks meanders through lush marshland, past flourishing ponds and ends in our bountiful orchard.
The Lizard Walk will take you along the coast into Ventnor, past lizard hotspots and lizard-inspired artworks.
One Horse Field is a beautiful wild meadow which is rich in wildlife; in the summer the meadow is buzzing with dragonflies and butterflies.
