Fun for all at Festival

31 Jul 2012

What a fantastic time we all had at the festival this year. Not only did we raise £3500 but had great fun in doing so! With the only patch of green on site after all the rain ‘The Hive’ was a real haven for people to come and enjoy themselves.

We had all sorts of crafty things going on such as felt making, wood crafting, make your own dream catcher and face painting. We had all sorts of bee mania for sale too such as fluffy bees, jewellery, bags and festival t-shirts with all sales contributing to our grand total this year.

Bee Leap Olympics
In true sporting style a team of Irish punters brought the standing long jump to the ‘The Hive’. Who could leap the furthest along Abee Road Crossing? All could join in as a warm up to this year’s Olympics in London. With commentary and even a medal ceremony this was truly a special spontaneous spectacle.

Obvious Ninjas
A strange thing happened … a visit from Obvious Ninjas. How many could fit in a tent we wondered? Well in they piled. A street art act they provided much entertainment and fun across the site.

Thanks to everybody who came and chilled out, contributed to and helped out at ‘The Hive’ this year.
