Island Waste Services

Island Waste Services is responsible for the weekly back door collection of household refuse from all of the Isle of Wight's 64,000 properties.

10 collection rounds cover the Island. This comprises 8 split bodied refuse collection vehicles, one smaller vehicle for the rural areas (together with a small rural recycling vehicle) and a vehicle servicing domestic wheeled bins and schools.

Wightlink, IW Ferries

Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries operates a round-the-clock service between the English mainland and the Isle of Wight. We run every day of the year on three routes across the Solent and sail up to 230 times a day. We also have the fastest and most comfortable fleet on these waters.  Portsmouth to Fishbourne takes approximately 40 minutes;  Lymington to Yarmouth 30 minutes (both car ferries), and  Portsmouth to Ryde around 18 minutes (FastCat foot passenger catamaran).
